From the Shore to Global Stages
We believe true change happens only when we inspire and influence others.
In addition to our work on the ground with local communities, we also advocate for change at broader, structural levels, aiming to shift mindsets both within society and worldwide.
We engage in diverse topics - from challenging stereotypes like the “surfer girl” image, to campaigning for ocean protection, and amplifying local voices on international platforms.
Sri Lankan Women Reclaim the Sea
Surf culture often portrays a very narrow image of the “surfer girl”. Too often, women are reduced to sexy images – in bikinis, posed on the beach – while men are shown riding waves.
We’re committed to changing this narrative.
We fight for authentic representation of strong, diverse surfer girls around the world — of all ages, shapes, sizes, skin tones, religions, and backgrounds — showcasing strength and femininity rather than sexualization.
With several viral moments, we’ve reached millions and inspired people across the globe.
